Simply Hot Cocoa

The simple things over the holidays are what makes it special.  Ever since my husband put a candy cane in my hot chocolate years ago, I can never go back.  It’s a Christmas party in your mouth!

Another idea I saw was to dip the rim of your mug into melted chocolate.  Then, dip immediately into crushed peppermints (soft peppermints from the dollar store or any grocery store work best, but you can use regular crushed candy canes also).  Let cool.  These can be done ahead of time which is the best part.  Your grandchildren, college students or adult children alike will love it!  There’s no better way to relax together over the holidays than over a yummy cup of chocolate and a great conversation.  This is priceless!
